International Member of the American Society of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery (ASMBS). Member and sits on the Executive Board of the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO). In 2016 he received the Commendation of the State Order of the Pine Tree from the Paraná State Government. He has extensive experience in videolaparoscopic surgery and revision surgery with an emphasis on Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery, working mainly on the following topics: Obesity, Metabolic Surgery and Bariatric Endoscopy. He is currently involved in projects related to endoscopic treatment of obesity recurrence, endoscopic treatment of grade 1 obesity and is the Coordinator of the BariClip Study Project in Brazil.
