He holds a medical degree from the Federal University of Paraíba (1997). He currently works as a specialist in Thoracic Surgery on a full-time basis as a civil servant at the Lauro Wanderley University Hospital (UFPB), a position he obtained through a competitive examination, with appointments originating from UNIFESP-EPM and the Santa Isabel Municipal Hospital, where he coordinates the thoracic surgery departments at both institutions. He also works as a staff physician at the following private hospitals: Albert Einstein Israeli Hospital—São Paulo; Real Hospital Português de Beneficência in Pernambuco—Recife, Pernambuco; Memorial São Francisco Hospital—João Pessoa, PB; Samaritano Hospital—João Pessoa, PB; Unimed Hospital—João Pessoa, PB; Cardio-Pulmonary Hospital—Salvador, BA; and Aliança Hospital—Salvador, BA. He provides services as an affiliated physician at NEUROVASC in João Pessoa, PB. He has experience in the field of medicine, with an emphasis on minimally invasive thoracic surgery (videothoracoscopy and robotic surgery), focusing primarily on the following areas: videothoracoscopy, lung cancer, tracheal surgery, chest trauma, chest deformities, respiratory endoscopy, lung transplantation, and hyperhidrosis. He is also active in academia as a volunteer professor in the Department of Surgery—Thoracic Surgery—at the Federal University of Paraíba, Campus I, in João Pessoa.
