HPB SUMMIT: LAPAROSCOPIC AND ROBOTIC HEPATOBILIOPANCREATIC SURGERY

HPB SUMMIT: LAPAROSCOPIC AND ROBOTIC HEPATOBILIOPANCREATIC SURGERY

Message from the Coordinator

This Summit is a high-level academic forum dedicated to providing updates on minimally invasive hepatobiliopancreatic surgery, with a special focus on the applications of laparoscopy, percutaneous techniques, and robotics in complex procedures involving the liver, pancreas, biliary tract, and transplantation. The meeting, scheduled for November 4, 2025, and chaired by Drs. Mariano Palermo and Rodrigo Vianna, will address topics of great clinical and technological relevance. First, we will discuss advances in laparoscopic and robotic pancreatic surgery, highlighting their impact on the safety and efficacy of complex resections. Next, Dr. Rodrigo Vianna will present on the emerging role of robotic surgery in organ transplantation, emphasizing its potential to optimize surgical precision and reduce associated morbidity. In turn, Dr. Mariano Palermo will address choledochoscopy in biliary surgery for gallstones, highlighting its value as a complementary tool in intraoperative diagnosis and the removal of difficult stones. Finally, the Scolla 2026 Postgraduate Course in HPB Surgery will be presented—an initiative aimed at training specialists in a field undergoing constant technological innovation. The event will conclude with a session for interactive discussion, allowing specialists to compare experiences and perspectives, and will culminate with closing remarks from the directors, cementing the gathering as a leading scientific forum for the dissemination and critical analysis of contemporary advances in HPB surgery. We believe this summit will provide colleagues with the tools they need to stay up to date on the latest technologies in HPB surgery.

Sincerely, Dr. Mariano Palermo and Dr. Rodrigo Vianna
