Currently there is a boom in minimally invasive procedures.
Laparoscopic surgeries are considered the route of choice for most surgical procedures. Patients opt for this type of procedure because they are less invasive, safer, and faster post-operatively. There are government projects to implement this technique in the public health sectors.
With this in mind, we, Dr. Mario Ghefter and Dr. Paulo Boscardim, have teamed up to offer a short, more immersive course, where during three days we will discuss in virtual sessions the technical aspects and details of the different minimally invasive approaches to the chest, with experienced surgeons and focused on teaching.
The 3rd Edition of the Immersion Course in Mini Invasive Thoracic Surgery presents the trends and novelties in this area, combining extensive practical training and immersion in live surgeries.
We will have a day reserved to share moments in the surgical center of the Hospital Nossa Senhora das Graças of minimally invasive surgeries, whether by videosurgery or even robotic surgery.
And to close with a golden key, we will have moments of great exchange of information, which will be offered in the last two days of class in the SCOLLA laboratories, where the student will train in models developed over the years, such as heart-lung blocks with dyes and in live models specially prepared for training of lung resections.
You will have the opportunity to participate in a different form of surgical skills training, where you learn by teaching.
This course was designed for you, young thoracic surgeon or not, who want to improve in the field of minimally invasive surgery, gaining security to continue exploring all the possibilities and advantages that the technique provides.
